"Not Exactly There"

Not Exactly There

Abstract paintings done by Michael Wille displayed in Meek Hall.

In Meek Hall, the art exhibit “not exactly there” has no words on the painting but it sure does say a lot.

Abstract artist, Michael Wille combines architectural pieces from particular cities

gathered throughout short stays in each place in which he uses to make his abstract

paintings. The paintings have been brought on campus for only a short period of time as an

education tool for the students.

Director of Meek Hall, Phillip Jackson was very enthusiastic about the exhibit being on campus.

“The artist has a chance to show the students on what he started

doing after he was finished with school and how he made a career out of what he

loves,” Jackson said.

The exhibition in Meek Hall exists to be a distinct departure from Willes main

mode of creation. The purpose of artists such as Willes to have exhibits in places such as

Meek Hall is not only to inspire the students but himself as an artist as well.

“He is going to be able to get feedback from the students and you never know, he

may like the idea one of the ideas a student throws back at him,” Jackson said.

A reception will be held on Thursday October the 6th in the gallery for the exhibit.
